I just really love Amazing Race. Among all the other reality shows, it is the show that I respected the most. I mean seriously, Survivor brings the worst out in people and ok, they will definitely look slimmer than what they started but whatever while other reality shows just had to follow the trend. BTW, I like the reality shows that involves fashion and cooking but sometimes they are just overly dramatic and makes me question my love for fashion while those cooking reality shows, they inspire me to study cooking but makes me want to eat as well, so not a good idea either. Anyways, at least Amazing Race showcases people confronting their fears, people testing their relationships, proving themselves to the world and showcases different culture and diversity. So, when Amazing Race had the version for Asia. I was excited to watch it.
I saw the first of it and there were two teams there from the Philippines, Ernie and Jeena, Aubrey and Jacqueline. I was only familiar with Aubrey because she is a Filipino actress. It's just annoying though how you have to get a 'label' in Amazing Race and stick with it. Well, Aubrey and Jacqueline's label was they were supposed to be girls who cannot go on without make-up. Whatever, after 4 years from Amazing Race Asia 1, Aubrey joined Survivor where obviously she has no make-up all the time. Ernie and Jeena placed 10th while Aubrey and Jacqueline placed 9th. Ernie and Jeena were very competitive that in the first leg, which was a non-elimination, they placed second. It's just unfortunate that in the second leg, they were the second ones to finish the fast forward, if only they did not choose to get the fast forward, they would have gone far in the
race. Aubrey and Jacqueline's downfall was really embarrassing, they knew they were last in the pack so instead of taking seriously the task at hand, they decided to play ala star wars with the stick because they are supposed to be the pretty girls who wear make up all the time and is always into having fun. I'm so ashamed for them that I will just put a picture of Ernie and Jeena (if I could find one, I mean, they are not really celebrities in the Philippines)
Season 2. This is the season that I hated the most but I watched it and every episode was the most anticipated. I was in love with Marc. Haha, I don't care if he is like 30 something or whatever, I love him!!!! Anyways, let's focus. I hated this season because Marc and Rovilson was clearly the team to beat. They are
very strong and charming, (well, Marc is), I just hate that they were beaten by Adrian and Collin (I don't even remember those people) and the Chong sisters. Season 2 had two Filipino teams, Terri and Henry, Marc and Rovilson. Terry and Henry were the annoying yet charming couple. At times, when Terri has been nagging too much, that's when she passed the borderline of charming and is very annoying. They were the team who have been saved by the pre-determined non-elimination leg twice, when they still arrived last the third time, I was really annoyed with Terry and I pity Henry so much that I wished they are just out of the game and did God listen to me! Terry has always taken advantage that Henry would not leave her and he would always be the
softer one. Terry was so dominating that she made her husband cry in the airport. Henry is just a sweet, sweet husband to her, he understands her and always wanted to do, what she wanted to do. Now, Marc and Rovilson, they are like first in 8 legs and I bet they won more than what Adrian and Collin won. The winners just won the $100,000 plus the N95 and N73 celphones while Marc and Rovilson won $5,000 credit card issued by standard chartered bank/member, one year's supply of Caltex, 2 Sony Handycam SR7/member, another $5,000 credit card/member, a safari trip to South Africa with whale watching. Even until now, it hurts me to watch how they lost so I really don't know what went wrong in this race. I would watch like 1/4 but I just can't.
Season 3. I don't remember much of this season. I knew that Geoffrey and Tish were a very strong team and I remembered them being targeted once in a while. They are the only Philippine team. I don't know if they are still together but during the race, you can really see the age gap. Tish is older than Geoff and she makes better decision and is calmer than Geoff most of the time. Tish is a beauty queen in the Philippines but because of her Canadian citizenship, she has to give up the crown. Geoff on the other hand was member of the male group 'The Hunks' if I am not mistaken. They were first in two legs and usually they are part of the leading group. I think the Amazing Race Asia gods do not allow me to watch the finale because even though they had reruns and all that, there is always something that would come up so that I will not be able to watch the finale
especially if Team Philippines will lose. I had something to do the night that the Finale was shown and when I heard that they just placed 2nd. I did not bother to watch so again, I also don't know how they were beaten by Vince and Sam.
Season 4. At last, the Philippine team won! I love this season and I have a little crush on Richard Herrera. Hmm, both teams are really competitive and strong that for some reason, some teams gain a hate crush on Jess and Lani. Seriously, I don't understand how they can hate Jess and Lani. At the beginning, they were always at the bottom and then at the middle of the race, that's when they started to be the leaders so I don't understand. Probably, the fact that they are pretty, strong and is still able to have fun in the race just made
Natasha, Michelle and Claire so jealous of these pretty girls. I mean, let's get real, Natasha, half the time, has the look on her face where in she wished that she did not race with her father, never did I notice her having fun in the race. I mean, she is always pressured to finish the task at hand unlike Jess and Lani, they are just taking each task at a time and are happy and pretty doing it. Natasha was only seen really happy when they were first at the second to the last leg, the rest happy smiles from Natasha will be because she's grateful that they are in the race. Michelle and Claire are also jealous of Jess and Lani because Jess and Lani are adorable and cool unlike them, they are mean and vengeful to the Indian girls, that's why Karma bit their butts in the finale. Michelle also look like a child while Claire looks like a lesbo and if she really is in real life, nothing's wrong with that. (disclaimer: don't hate lesbos, just think Claire is jealous of Jess and Lani). Jess and Lani could have made it to the Top 3 if they also asked a taxi to drive them around. Richard and Richard, one day, I will go out with Richard Herrera (haha, I don't know how I will do it but I will send that message to the universe until it happens or until I grew tired of doing that). Richard and Richard are a very strong team and they are so focused and nice. They really are gentleman and of course, it wouldn't hurt to be lucky at times. They almost got eliminated because they hitchhike with a private car in the 8th leg.
